Davis Shows Northwest

A Great Northwest Family Carnival Experience!

                                                    DAVIS SHOWS NW, INC.

My name is William Patrick Davis (Pat); Davis Amusement Company was started in 1950 by Mannie & Melba Davis and has been passed on in the family.  I’m their son, and I was raised in the business.  My wife, Geraldine, and I now own and operate Davis Shows NW, Inc., a family oriented Carnival.  We also have unit managers, Laine and Jamie Chamberlin, James and Kelly Daniel, who have been involved in the carnival business for several years.  Laine, James or I are with the show at all times.  We each have an office, on location, during operating hours and we are usually on site all the time.

We can offer you a varying amount of rides, games and food concessions, according to the size of event and what space would allow (#40 Amusement Rides to choose from).  We can work with odd dimensions, any medians or light poles, except over head wire is sometimes a problem.   We do need to be supplied with water.

We usually pay a percentage to our sponsor, concessions are a flat rate.  We also rent rides, flat rate for private events. We try to keep the rate low until we have an idea of earning potential. We also do special promotions for the Handicap organization in conjunction with some events.

We sometimes provide chemical toilets and garbage dumpsters, unless a facility dumpster & toilets are available. The carnival area will be cleaned every night at the closing of the show, we will also clean the area prior to leaving the grounds.

We like to ensure our customers safety at all times and we take several steps to be sure we do all we can to prevent any accidents.  Every year the Northwest Showmen’s Club puts on a nationally accredited safety seminar.  We send several of our ride and concession personnel to that each year.

Our rides are inspected daily by maintenance personnel to be sure they will function properly and safely.  They are also inspected for safety by the states of Oregon, Washington, on a regular basis.  Our insurance company inspects them too.  We carry  up to $5 million insurance.

We recently did a seminar for our own employees (Feb 2006) done by an Independent Inspector.  We also had two of our long term maintenance men take a level one Inspectors test without any coaching, we are pleased they both passed.  We also keep our maintenance shop in Tygh Valley operating almost year round now.  We do anything from Code Ride, Fence, Major Ride Overhauls, Painting, Generator Repair and Truck Maintenance.

Geraldine and I along with our managers Laine and Jamie, James and Kelly, operate Davis Shows NW unit 1 and 2.  We hope we can serve all of your Carnival needs in a satisfactory way.

                                                       RIDE PRICES

Davis Shows N.W. works on a coupon system.  The coupons are $1.00 for individual coupons or  $19.00 for a book of 24 coupons, rides take 3- 4 coupons each.  We often do special promotions thru stores and schools.  We also have armband days and family days, with special prices for ride coupons.  No money will be accepted at any of the rides.  If prior arrangements are made the show allows the handicapped organization of people in the community to ride the rides free of charge.  If arranged in advanced we can try to put aside a time for a group to ride before normal show hours. We also like to do a presale program thru you the sponsor, it saves the public money you get a higher percentage on it and it is money in the bank for both of us prior to opening.  Since Fuel is high, it is essential for our company to implement a Fuel Surcharge, agreeable by both Parties.

                                                     GAME PRICES

Cost varies according to the game and how it is played.  The cost generally ranges from 10 cents to $2.00 per game.

                                     CUSTOMER RELATIONS POLICY

We want our customers to feel welcome at our show, so our office is always open to the public for any suggestions, complaints, or compliments.  The office staff can answer most questions and handle all matters brought to their attention by the public, in regard to midway operation.  The appropriate management personnel will deal with all concerns a customer may have in a prompt and courteous manner.  In order to meet public expectations and uphold the image we have established, we have a very strict uniform policy.

We keep all of our employees in uniform during all operating hours and neat, clean and courteous, at any time they are in the community representing our show.
